Communio - Cantate Domino - Abbaye Notre-Dame de Fidélité - met prachtig commentaar op tekst en muziek met mooie natuuropname van vogels die ook hun lofzang zingen!
Cantate Domino alleluia
Cantate Domino, benedicite nomen ejus
bene nuntiate de die in diem salutare ejus
alleluia, alleluia.
Sing unto the Lord, alleluia:
sing unto the Lord, and bless His Name;
show forth His salvation from day to day.
Alleluia, alleluia.
This communion is a song of jubilation expressing the continuous joy of Easter. It comes from Psalm 95. It is a cry of overflowing, ineffable joy. Sing to the Lord, (Cantate Domino… Cantate Domino). The melody strongly marks the urgency of the announcement of salvation (bene nuntiate salutare ejus). The first two sentences are mostly melismatic, especially on “Domino", without many jumps. The climactic central section instead, on "bene nuntiate”, "announce the good news/Gospel,” jumps out from the placid introduction, ringing loudly and lingering on the phrase that constitutes the fundamental mission of Christianity.
Deze communio zingen wij deze dagen ook!
