Tot volgende week zaterdag hebben wij onze jaarlijkse retraite. Weblog, website en twitteraccount worden dan niet bijgewerkt. Na de retraite nemen wij met nieuwe energie de draad weer op.
Enkele gedachten over retraites:
From "Scalia Speaks: Reflections on Law, Faith, and Life Well Lived" van Antonin Scalia, Christopher J. Scalia, Edward Whelan, Ruth Bader Ginsburg 2017:
"Any person who believes in the transcendental has to go on a retreat periodically. Because the world believes in the pragmatic rather than the transcendental, and you will lose your soul (that is to say, forget what and who you are) if you do not get away from the noise now and then to think about the First Things."
"If you have transcendental principles—which for
Catholics means if you believe in Jesus Christ and His Church—they have to
shape your entire worldview."
Rev. Paul Scalia "That Nothing May Be Lost. Reflections on Catholic Doctrine and Devotion" 2017:
"Christ was going to the One Who is All—to His Father. He removed Himself from the crowds not because He had enough of them (He is not like us in that regard), but to give Himself “in prayer to God” (Lk 6: 12). He retreated so that He could enter into uninterrupted conversation with His Father."
